CKLN Radio 88.1 FM = Off Air, Online, Working On Options, Rude Awakening Says Good Night, I'm Off To Ottawa.
.
Dear CKLN Rude Awakening Listeners,
Sorry for not posting an update on CKLN and my "Rude Awakening" show sooner, I've been having trouble uploading recent shows and wanted to get that done first, but hopefully soon. Unfortunately, CKLN lost our injunction to continue to appeal, it's complicated, but please see - http://www.ckln.fm/ - for details. While anything can happen, for now, after 28 years on air in Toronto since 1983, CKLN Radio can longer be heard locally on 88.1 on the FM dial. However: we're still broadcasting online as usual.
After a freelance report for CKLN on The Bilderberg Group in Ottawa in 2006, news director Kristin was kind enough to offer me an internship, which lead to co-hosting "Rude Awakening" on Tuesdays from 6 - 7 with my man Mark Billz. We had a blast and I've hosted at various times since, including Mondays to Thursdays from 6 - 7 am and Monday evenings "Word of Mouth" from 7 - 8 pm, plus guest spots. That's a lot of radio and it's been an absolute privilege and pleasure working with and for CKLN.
My last CKLN radio show show was on Thursday, April 28th, 2011, from 6 - 7 am. The focus was on improving our relationships as families, friends and strangers or neighbours, adding feeling to meaning, men defending women, children and the elderly from corruption like they have for a thousand years before the last hundred, how our culture affects us and how to practically and politely transcend it. It was a fun free-style ride and I'll post a copy soon. What can we do with what we learn and for who?
Now I'm off to Ottawa to figure out what's going on, including who owns our $500 billion national debt and how to stop austerity measures, or governments telling us they're too broke to give us services we were heavily taxed to pay for, among other things. I've travelled a lot but I've never lived anywhere except for the GTA, so I'm excited and it should be a lot of fun. It may be a better place to address issues and organize on a national basis against international threats, while enjoying ourselves, of course.
Thanks to all my listeners and please keep in touch as you'd like, I'll post updates on new shows and more at this blog. Archived shows and more are at Radio4All.net and Archive.org, just search for "ckln" or "black krishna" at the sites. While it's sad to hear things come to an end, it's good to think we accomplished something in the info war as people enjoyed hearing "Rude Awakening" in Toronto and elsewhere. We've all learned a lot and it's a good time to use it, new beginnings are ahead, feel free to enjoy them... :)
Peace,
BK

CKLN MOVES OFF OF 88.1 FM... For Now!
Friday, 15 April 2011
The Federal Court of Appeal today announced it will not hear the appeal of CKLN Radio 88.1FM.
The campus-based community radio station had filed a leave to appeal a CRTC decision revoking its broadcast license. While the station will lose its broadcasting privileges on the 88.1FM signal, station management plans to continue as broadcasters for the Ryerson campus and the surrounding community.

Canada's economy unexpectedly shrinks in February
The Canadian economy shrank in February for the first time in five months as the manufacturing sector suffered its biggest contraction since the worst stretch of the recession and wholesale trade also declined.

Canadian public debt
Canada’s federal debt grew steadily between 5% and 10% per year until 1975. For the next 12 years it grew on average over 20% per year. It surpassed $100 billion in 1981, $200 billion in 1985, $300 billion in 1988, $400 billion in 1992, and $500 billion in 1994. It peaked at $563 billion in 1997. The debt then declined to $458 billion by 2008.
With the recession, the federal debt grew by $5.8 billion in 2008-09 and is expected to grow by $55.9 billion in 2009-10.

Bank of Canada
Born in the worst years of the Great Depression, and guiding Canada's economy ever since, the Bank of Canada turned 75 on 11 March 2010. As the country's central bank and one of our most vital national institutions, the Bank has a broad monetary policy mandate from Parliament to foster the economic and financial well-being of all Canadians.

BONUS: Among three legends I especially respect in the game, including Alan Watt and Alex Jones, veteran info warrior and summa cum laude rogue academic badass Webster Tarpley isn't afraid to tell us all to "get active or get radioactive". In this awesome one hour interview, he breaks down the fake recession and dangerous policies that threaten everyone globally wherever we live and our futures. It's not smart enough to say governments are broke and we're all screwed. Not when we have options.
