Alex Jones - 9/11 truther, radio host, controversial conspiracy theorist ... and golf course reviewer?
Thursday February 7, 2008 12:19:40 pm 333 words World Golf
Whether or not you believe in Conspiracy theories such as the 9/11 Truthers movement, you probably have heard of Alex Jones.
Jones is prolific in the world of conspiracy theories, and his InfoWars.com and PrisonPlanet.com Web sites are ground zero conspiracists of all flavors, including stars like Willie Nelson and Charlie Sheen. He’s also a filmmaker, radio show host, among other things. Whatever you think of the guy, you have to accept that he keeps himself really really really busy.
Apparently, he may also be an avid golfer. From a recent WorldGolf.com Exit Poll on Championsgate - International Golf Club in Orlando, Fla., here’s what “Alex Jones” had to say:
"We always have a good time here at Champions Gate. Our group does an Orlando trip each year and this course (International) is a can’t miss. Staff, the food Didn’t play the National Course this time due to not enought time, but it’s a good course too, different from the International."
Ok, we haven’t been able to verify if this is the same Alex Jones, but we’re working to see if it is. This Alex Jones does admit to being an 8 handicap, which is more than respectable, especially for a guy who publishes a new book or movie every 20 minutes or so.
Even if its not the same Alex Jones, you can find helpful golf course reviews like this from regular (or infamous) golfers from around the globe at WorldGolf.com’s Exit Polls. In order to fill in your own review of a golf course, locate that course page in our golf course guide and file your review.
You’ll even put yourself in the running for a free golf book, which are given out each week to readers who fill out Exit Polls, like David Bodnar who reviewed Suncrest Golf Course in Butler, Pa.
So whether or not it was Alex Jones of Infowars that gave us a review, one thing is for certain - WorldGolf.com’s Exit Polls are no conspiracy.

Dam Breaks, ABC News Covers Willie Nelson 9/11 Story
May force other mainstream outlets to pick up icon's comments
Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet Tuesday, February 5th, 2008
The dam has broken on mainstream media coverage of Willie Nelson's comments yesterday about the implosion of the WTC twin towers with ABC News picking up the story on their front page this afternoon.
The link leads to an embedded video clip which includes Nelson's comments about how he doubts the official 9/11 story during yesterday's Alex Jones Show. Conforming to the usual standards of establishment media, ABC don't even provide the source of where Nelson made his comments.
The story briefly appeared on the Drudge Report yesterday before it was pulled but the blogosphere is raging with discussion about Nelson's take on the terror attacks.
ABC News' decision to give the issue attention will probably force other mainstream outlets to follow suit.

Willie Nelson: I Question Official Sept. 11 Story
Tuesday, February 05, 2008
AUSTIN - Texas icon Willie Nelson said on a nationally syndicated radio show this week that he questions the official story of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York City.
"I certainly do," Nelson said Monday when asked by talk show host Alex Jones if he questions the official story.
"I saw those towers fall and I've seen an implosion in Las Vegas, there's too much similarities between the two. And I saw the building fall that didn't get hit by nothing," the singer-songwriter said. "So, how naive are we, you know, what do they think we'll go for?"
On Sept. 11, 2001, 19 men hijacked planes, crashing them into each of the World Trade Center's twin towers in New York City, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field.
Nelson, who turns 75 this year, said if he were president, he would "stop the damn war, it's just that simple."
"The way I heard it, the 15 people from Saudi Arabia hit us in New York and we go jump on Afghanistan," Nelson said. "I never could figure that one out in Iraq."
Nelson's publicist would not comment on the remarks.
Jones, an Austin-based talk show host on the Burnsville, Minn., Genesis Communications Network, is sometimes described as a "conspiracy theorist." He regularly rails against globalism, the United Nations and World Bank on satellite and Internet radio.

Willie Nelson Fears "an Event" that Could Keep Bush in Office for Another 10 Years !!
Diary Entry by Bill Douglas February 4, 2008 OpEd News
Paul Joseph Watson, writing for prisonplanet.com, wrote on country icon Willy Nelson's interview with Alex Jones on his radio program. Willie had some EXPLOSIVE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT 9/11, and also about fears that "something" will happen that will enable Bush to stay in office for another 10 years.
"How naive are we - what do they think we'll go for?," asked Nelson, pointing out that his doubts...
...Willie went on to say he believes that an elite are causing wars for their own economic purposes that are subverting democracy, and that elections are being rigged. He also feared another false flag attack in America. “A crisis could come just before the elections and we could have George in office for another ten years,” Willie added.
So, the growing army of Americans who now know we’ve been lied to about 9/11, continues to expand. How do we get the rest of America looking at the events of 9/11, and thinking about the election fraud, and oil wars we’re being manipulated with?
...Check out www.TheShellGame.net to find various resources that you can use to do this. We can make a difference, and it doesn’t take much work. This author has laid his career on the line to write a book about 9/11 lies, and to push all the 9/11 truth activists as American heroes. Do we stand with him, or ignore his efforts. What we decide, may be the most important decision we make. We have 90 days to make this novel fly or die.

Super Tuesday Voting Machine Malfunctions Reported
Problems already reported with electronic machines as voting commences in 21 states
Steve Watson Infowars.net Tuesday, Feb 5, 2008
Problems have already been reported this morning with electronic voting machines in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Reports state that the two Sequoia AVC Advantage touch-screen voting machines at the Hoboken Fire Department Engine Company No. 2 on Washington Street would not work for about 45 minutes as the polls opened this morning.
The polling station happens to be the location where New Jersey Governor John Corzine was scheduled to vote. He was unable to cast his vote until 7:00am according to the reports, 45 minutes late.
The AP reported that voters were turned away until officials could get one of the machines working.
As the New York Times reported, there were no provisional ballots at the poll site, so voters had no choice but to wait for the machines to be fixed or to choose not to vote at all.
Similar problems with the machines were reported in Florida last week.
The New York Times reports today that New Jersey, along with Delaware and Georgia, are using only the paperless machines, which make "meaningful recounts ... impossible." The majority of polling stations in Tennessee and some in Arkansas are also using the unauditable machines.
California has decertified the machines in response to concerns and switched back to using paper ballots. Florida is following suit, with last week's primary being the last time for at least four years that the machines will be used.
U.S. recession could be worse than recent downturns
Joanne Morrison Reuters Wednesday February 6, 2008
The chances of the United States avoiding a recession appear to be growing dimmer by the day, and any contraction in the economy will likely last longer and be more severe than other downturns in the past 20 years.
Recent reports have shown the housing market slump and rising defaults in the mortgage market are now taking their toll on job growth and on the manufacturing and services sector.
But heavy consumer debt, a growing federal budget gap, and rising prices could make any recession worse than Americans have experienced over the past two decades.

GLOBAL MARKETS-Stocks slide on bank stress, consumer jitters Tue Feb 5, 2008 8:15am EST
By Mike Dolan
LONDON, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Stock markets around the world slipped again on Tuesday on concerns the six-month-old credit and banking crisis was already hitting consumers and service sector firms in the United States and Europe.
Banks and financial stocks were in the firing line once again with stretched balance sheets from the mortgage market hiatus and wholesale funding difficulties compounded by new jitters over U.S. credit card businesses and a wider recession.

Kurt Nimmo Truth News February 2, 2008
AP reports:
"Teams of police officers armed with submachine guns and bomb-sniffing dogs will soon be patrolling the busiest parts of New York City subways as part of a major increase in regional security funding.
The subway initiative is one use of the $151.2 million in new grant money from the Department of Homeland Security to transit systems in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. Last year, they received $98 million.
Explaining the increase, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said law enforcement officials in the three states “have to deal with vulnerabilities and threats in this region that are really second to none.”
New York’s subways have long been considered a potential terror target; police already randomly check riders’ bags, and the tunnels and ventilation systems are searched for explosives. Hidden cameras register any suspicious action."
...Of course, since there is no al-Qaeda “presence” in the United States, that is unless you consider Muslims and Arabs at large card-carrying al-Qaeda members, as the neocon do, the only logical purpose of all this exorbitantly expensive “security” activity is to send a message to the American people, sort of like the message Ari Fleischer sent soon after September 11, 2001: the commoners best “watch what they say, watch what they do,” otherwise they may run afoul of a knuckle-dragger in black who likes to pepper spray babies and taser people who ask the wrong questions or do not submit readily enough when pulled over for minor traffic violations.

9/11 widows call for new investigation after revelations of White House, commission ties
Nick Juliano Raw Story Tuesday February 5, 2008
The widows whose political activism was largely responsible for the establishment of a commission to investigate the September 11 attacks say a new book revealing the backstory of the 9/11 Commission proves that their initial concerns about its executive director were correct and demonstrate the need for another investigation.
Philip Shenon, who covered the proceedings for the New York Times, has written a new book, The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation, which was released Tuesday. The book reveals the close ties between commission executive director Philip Zelikow and White House advisers Karl Rove and Condoleezza Rice.
The Commission also reveals that aside from one staff member, no one on the 9/11 investigative panel reviewed what was perhaps the most robust treasure trove of pre-9/11 intelligence on al Qaeda -- records from the National Security Agency, which conducts electronic surveillance and codebreaking for the US Intelligence Community.
"General Michael Hayden, who headed the NSA at the time, was eager to cooperate and share what his organization had with the 9/11 Commission, but Executive Director Zelikow was not interested," 9/11 widows Patty Casazza, Monica Gabriellle, Mindy Kleinberg and Lorie Van Auken said in a statement reacting to the book.
In all ages, in all lands, there have been those who seek truth. This seeking is an individual's search for something more than self, and much more than the confines of this worldly system. It is the seeker, who understands there is more than what meets the eye, who is not afraid and makes the choice to go into the unknown. The process of awaking has begun, the discovery is underway.

Local News Covers Willie Nelson's 9/11 Remarks

KVUE News 3, ABC's Austin affiliate, covered country music legend Willie Nelson's statements about 9/11 he made yesterday on the Alex Jones Show.
The news brief included a snippet of Nelson asking rhetorically, "How naive are we?" before a short story about what it referred to as "controversial statements" Nelson made about the twin towers' apparent demolition on 9/11:

Willie Nelson questions Sept. 11 on local talk radio show
10:28 PM CST on Monday, February 4, 2008
KVUE News
Willie Nelson went on a nationally syndicated radio show Monday, and questioned the official story of what happened on Sept. 11.
Nelson said the collapse of the World Trade Center towers reminded him of a hotel implosion in Las Vegas.
“The day it happened, I saw one fall and it was just so symmetrical,” Nelson said on Alex Jones' talk show. “I said, ‘Wait a minute, I just saw that last week at the casino in Las Vegas’, and you see these implosions all the time, and the next one fell and I said, ‘Hell, there’s another one.' They’re trying to tell me that an airplane did it and I can’t go along with that.”
Nelson’s publicist would not comment on the radio interview.
This is not the first time Willie has gotten political. In recent years, he has written songs against the Iraq War, and also in favor of gay rights. Nelson also campaigned in favor of Kinky Friedman for governor.
9/11 revelations briefly flirted with popular news website's front page, quickly removed
Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet Tuesday, February 5th, 2008
Willie Nelson's explosive take on 9/11, that the collapse of the twin towers and Building 7 looked like Las Vegas-style implosions, has largely been ignored by the medis thus far, though it briefly appeared on the front page of the Drudge Report before quickly being canned.
About an hour after we released the story, members of our forum alerted us to the fact that our headline had been posted on the front page of the Drudge Report, which ranks as one of the biggest news websites in America and competes for traffic with the New York Times and the Washington Post.
Though it was not linked to our website, the headline "Willie Nelson: Twin Towers Were Imploded On 9/11... Developing..." appeared on the left hand side of the Drudge Report late yesterday afternoon.
However, within about 20 minutes or so the headline was pulled from the front page...
...The headline as it appeared on Drudge before it was pulled can still be viewed at the Drudge Report Archives website, which takes a screenshot of Drudge's front page every two minutes.
Country music legend Willie Nelson compared the collapse of the World Trade Center to the controlled implosions of casinos in Las Vegas while on nationally syndicated radio this week.
While speaking on Alex Jones' Texas-based talk show, a favorite among conspiracy theorists, the "On the Road Again" warbler made it clear he was skeptical of the official story of the events on Sept. 11. "I saw those towers fall and I've seen an implosion in Las Vegas," he said. "There was too much similarity between the two. And I saw a building fall that didn't get hit by nothing."

Known for his quivering voice, red-haired braids and songs like "Always on My Mind" and "Crazy," Nelson has never shied away from speaking out on numerous hot button issues, including the Iraq War, marijuana legalization and gay rights. In recent years he has campaigned for Dennis Kucinich's presidential bid and for fellow country singer Kinky Friedman's failed attempt for Texas governor in 2006.
"Two and a Half Men" actor Charlie Sheen made headlines on the same radio show in March, 2006 when he too aired his doubts about Sept. 11.
"It seems to me like 19 amateurs with box cutters taking over four commercial airliners and hitting 75 percent of their targets: that feels like a conspiracy theory," Sheen told Jones.

Willie Nelson challenges official government account of 9/11 attacks
AUSTIN, Texas - Feb. 5 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Willie Nelson appeared Monday, February 4, 2008, on the nationally-syndicated Alex Jones Show in a ground breaking interview where the country music legend said the twin towers were imploded on 9/11. "I saw those towers fall and I've seen an implosion in Las Vegas - there's too much similarities between the two, and I saw a building fall that didn't get hit by nothing," added Nelson, referring to WTC Building 7, which collapsed in the late afternoon of September 11.
Nelson said he was not surprised by the recent revelations concerning the impartiality of the 9/11 Commission - namely Phillip Zelikow, who has close ties to the Bush Administration.
"How naive are we - what do they think we'll go for?" asked Nelson, pointing out that his doubts began on the very day of 9/11 during an appearance on the Alex Jones Show.

With The former Italian President saying it is well known within the intelligence community that 9/11 was a CIA and Mossad Op, and the Prime Minister of Japan and his cabinet being questioned about Insider Trading and the implosion of World Trade Center 7 by the opposition party, global interest in 9/11 truth is exploding.
If you decide today to share this information with everyone, family members may finally recieve answers to their many questions, and those who were criminally complicit may be tried and exposed. Its as easy as sending a link folks. Loose Change Final Cut puts the official government fable of 9/11 to rest, it truly is the nail in the coffin if you decide to be the hand that holds the hammer.
Ex-Italian President: Intel Agencies Know 9/11 An Inside Job
Man who set up Operation Gladio tells Italy's largest newspaper attacks were run by CIA, Mossad
Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet Tuesday, December 4, 2007
Former Italian President and the man who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio Francesco Cossiga has gone public on 9/11, telling Italy's most respected newspaper that the attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad and that this was common knowledge amongst global intelligence agencies.
Cossiga was elected President of the Italian Senate in July 1983 before winning a landslide 1985 election to become President of the country in 1985.
Cossiga gained respect from opposition parties as one of a rare breed - an honest politician - and led the country for seven years until April 1992.
Cossiga's tendency to be outspoken upset the Italian political establishment and he was forced to resign after revealing the existence of, and his part in setting up, Operation Gladio - a rogue intelligence network under NATO auspices that carried out bombings across Europe in the 60's, 70's and 80's.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladio
Gladio's specialty was to carry out what they coined "false flag operations," terror attacks that were blamed on their domestic and geopolitical opposition.
Cossiga's revelations contributed to an Italian parliamentary investigation of Gladio in 2000, during which evidence was unearthed that the attacks were being overseen by the U.S. intelligence apparatus.
In March 2001, Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated, in sworn testimony, "You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force ... the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security."
Cossiga's new revelations appeared last week in Italy's oldest and most widely read newspaper, Corriere della Sera. Below appears a rough translation.
"[Bin Laden supposedly confessed] to the Qaeda September [attack] to the two towers in New York [claiming to be] the author of the attack of the 11, while all the [intelligence services] of America and Europe ... now know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the CIA American and the Mossad with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic Countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part ... in Iraq [and] Afghanistan."
Cossiga first expressed his doubts about 9/11 in 2001, and is quoted in Webster Tarpley's book as stating that "The mastermind of the attack must have been a “sophisticated mind, provided with ample means not only to recruit fanatic kamikazes, but also highly specialized personnel. I add one thing: it could not be accomplished without infiltrations in the radar and flight security personnel.”
Coming from a widely respected former head of state, Cossiga's assertion that the 9/11 attacks were an inside job and that this is common knowledge amongst global intelligence agencies is highly unlikely to be mentioned by any establishment media outlets, because like the hundreds of other sober ex-government, military, air force professionals, allied to hundreds more professors and intellectuals - he can't be sidelined as a crackpot conspiracy theorist.
Japan's prime minister and main opposition rival clashed on Jan. 9th, 2008 over the controversial naval mission in support of U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan as the ruling bloc prepared to force an enabling law through parliament
Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, squaring off in parliament with Democratic Party leader Ichiro Ozawa for the first time since taking office, praised the navy's refueling mission as helping the global war on terrorism and urged the opposition-controlled upper house to vote on it before parliament ends on Jan. 15...

He asked the current Prime Minister Fukuda who was the Chief Cabinet Secretary under Koizumi cabinet in 2001 .
"How could terrorists have attacked the Pentagon?"...
...Yukihisa Fujita did question Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba and Minister of Finance Fukushiro Nukaga about the way in which the US government did inform the japanese government about the people responsible for the 9/11 attacks.
He then explained that in the USA many people doubt the official version of 9/11 and numerous websites and scientists have collected evidence that contradicts the governments version.
He presented several largescale photographs of: the Pentagon entry and exit hole, the flight path towards the Pentagon, the exploding WTC towers and the WTC 7 collapse.
He concluded that the japanese governments support of the "war against terror" is solely based on information provided by the US-administration. He demanded further investigation in the face of the governments drive to support the war more actively.

Prof. Marjorie Cohn Global Research, February 5, 2008
LA Times Re: LA Times Editorial, p. 2
Mukasey is trying to single-handedly change U.S. law when he suggests a "shocks-the-conscience" test to measure torture. The United States has ratified the United Nations Convention Against Torture, which makes it part of the supreme law of the land under the Constitution's supremacy clause. That convention says that torture is never allowed, even in time of war. Mukasey refuses to admit that fact in order to shield his superiors from prosecution under the War Crimes Act, which defines torture as a war crime.
Commanders, not just the interrogators themselves, can be liable for torture if they should've known it would happen. As Lawrence Wilkerson, Colin Powell's former chief of staff, said on National Public Radio, the policies that led to the torture and abuse of prisoners emanated from Dick Cheney's office.

No Attack on Mosul! The occupation has escalated its air bombing campaigns by 400 per cent in the past year
An Emergency Statement of Intellectuals and Activists
Global Research, February 5, 2008
Brussells Tribunal
An Emergency Statement of Intellectuals and Activists - 05 February 2008.
Bush’s failure in Iraq requires a new “success”. While the blood-soaked US occupation in Iraq declares one victory after another since nearly five years, it stages massacre after massacre of the people of Iraq.
Now the occupation declares a new “decisive” success is imminent, this time against the population of Mosul, the third largest city in Iraq. Its pretext is always the same: to eradicate “Al-Qaeda”, while Al-Qaeda from its mouth means Sunnis, Baathists, Arabs and all patriotic Iraqis.
Although the occupation has on many occasions declared its victory, the fact that it needs to attack yet again an entire city and its population proves that it couldn’t and cannot eradicate the legal resistance of the Iraqi people. The only thing decisive is that the occupation by its tactics announces its defeat.
"The occupation has escalated its air bombing campaigns by 400 per cent [1] in the past year and openly promises more indiscriminate attacks on populated urban areas. It uses disproportionate force indiscriminately against civilian populations in a pattern of actions that constitutes genocide under international law."
The imminent attack on Mosul - another urbicide following the ones of holy Najaf, martyred Fallujah, Al-Qaim, Tel Afar, Haditha, and whole neighbourhoods of Baghdad, among others - will only result, as with its precedents, in horrific killings, destruction and mass population displacement, thereby changing the historical, sociological and demographic makeup of the city.
This imminent attack is a pre-announced genocide. It is blood, death and destruction for oil. As the spreading of the resistance to Southern and Northern provinces proves, this new attack is in vain. The Iraqi people rejects - and will always reject - the criminal US occupation.
This imminent attack should raise condemnation, disgust and protest from peace loving people and human rights defenders worldwide. Five years of destruction and death should have taught the Bush administration that its litany of killing serves no purpose and leads only to moral suicide for the United States.
Humanity is in distress in Iraq. Our role and duty is to save it.
Act to stop the massacre in Mosul!

THE ECONOMY: Ron Paul vs. Death, Taxes and the Federal Reserve Bankster Boogie! :-)
.
Hi Folks,
Happy Crazy 8's! :-)
.
There's tons of stuff going on, including presidential candidates promising changes without explaining them or acknowledging what's really happening.
While we're interested in politics we can understand what Ron Paul has said for decades and why we should hear him now.
Once we compare ideas we'll see which ones work and how we can all work on them for our future.
.
Incidentally, you may want to dump your stocks and liquid assets now.
Incidentally, you may want to buy gold or silver or Swiss francs backed by gold.
Incidentally, you may want to prove they steal elections by voting and catching them.

CBS: Little e-voting accountability on Super Tuesday
Raw Story Nick Langewis and David Edwards February 4, 2008
Democratic House Representative Rush D. Holt, Jr. (NJ-12) talks to CBS about the lack of accountability put on electronic voting machines whose results are impossible to verify.
As California, Colorado and Florida join Ohio in plans already in place to abandon touch-screen voting machines, Rep. Holt proposes appropriating $500 million to states that wish to convert either to paper ballots, or electronic machines that also leave a paper trail. While it's too late for such a change to take place for Super Tuesday's vote, Holt would like for such an option to be available in time for the final presidential vote this November.
"I think lots of states are finding that they're not getting everything they bargained for," adds Doug Chapin of Pew Charitable Trusts' electionline.org. "And, in many cases, not getting what they paid for."

Albany Times Union Letters to the Editor February 3, 2008
In your Jan. 27 editorial, "For the GOP, no one," you forgot to mention the real choice for the Republican candidate: Ron Paul. It's infuriating to see articles in every publication fail to even give him any credit as a viable candidate in the Republican race.
He has outlasted Fred Thompson and beaten Rudy Giuliani time and time again in the primaries and caucuses, even coming in second in Nevada behind Mitt Romney.
Paul is the only candidate on either side who advocates real change. He has never taken a government-paid junket or raised taxes in his congressional district. He wants out of Iraq and entangling alliances that drain our economy. He wants to abolish the income tax and bring back the gold standard for the dollar.
He wants to take away economic incentives that propel illegal immigration. He wants to make sure we retain our civil liberties. He was against the Patriot Act and wants to bring back the constitutional principles that made our country great. Who in this GOP race talks about these issues? No one.
So I look to the Times Union to show that journalistic integrity exists by publishing something worthwhile about Ron Paul, like this letter.
You could write letters to the editor, or call them, or find other ways of telling people what editors don't.
Expressing creativity in the defense of liberty is a good way to spend time.
You can approach friends, neighbors or businesses on behalf of a local group politely dropping-off articles, brochures or dvd's to leave in the front or back and look at.
If a major recession hits they'll be informed enough to wake up thousands of customers in your neighbourhood.
Time to defend yourself in the information war: get informed, inspired and active for the cause of freedom.

Paul would change fraudulent system
Springfield News-Leader Letters to the Editor February 2, 2008
One of the biggest scams ever brought about against the American people has been the Federal Reserve System, fraudulently created in 1913.
It is not federal and it has no reserves. It is a group of private bankers who basically print money out of thin air and then loan it to the United States government at interest.
They also control the interest rates for our economy. The "booms" and "busts" of our economic cycles are scientifically created by the "Fed." Their goal is to make a profit for their shareholders.
This powerful entity has never been audited.
Our Constitution states that Congress is to be the one to coin our money and regulate its value. We don't need the private bankers as "middlemen" who have fleeced American citizens out of trillions of dollars over the years.
The Federal Reserve has continually created more and more money over the years, causing inflation. The purchasing power of a 1913 dollar has declined to a value of about one penny today.
The federal income tax was also fraudulently created in 1913. The 16th Amendment was never fully ratified. There is no law stating that we have to pay a tax on our wages.
The bankers have tricked us into believing that these taxes fund the government, instead of their inflationary scheme of creating money out of nothing.
A commission set up by President Reagan admitted that not one dime of our income tax goes to run the government. It all goes to pay the debt to the private bankers of the Federal Reserve.
Of the current presidential candidates, only Ron Paul is talking about this issue. He understands the "hidden inflation tax" on Americans and the unnecessary and unconstitutional Federal Reserve system.
He would phase this system out and eliminate the IRS and the income tax. Our ailing republic needs Ron Paul's monetary expertise now more than ever.
To abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks, to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, and for other purposes.
Check Ron Paul's website, he's adored by the people and ignored by the corporate media for reasons we should understand.
Change is not just a theme for a speech, it is clearly arguing for sound foreign, domestic and economic policy for freedom, peace and prosperity.
Compare exactly what candidates propose and understand why individuals everywhere support President Ron Paul and his 30 years of honest work on the biggest issues we face today.

Jim Cramer gushes over Ron Paul on CNBC's 'Mad Money'
GATA December 15, 2007
A year ago, interviewed on TheStreet.com's "Wall Street Confidential" Internet television program, Jim Cramer, the manic host of CNBC's "Mad Money" program, confessed to market manipulation during his days as a hedge fund manager:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOGLvxqAk4A
But on his "Mad Money" program on CNBC yesterday Cramer spent seven minutes interviewing and praising Texas U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, for seeking to make market manipulation by the Federal Reserve into a campaign issue...
...Yesterday on "Mad Money" Cramer agreed with Paul that the Fed gets almost no scrutiny from Congress even as it is a creature of law made by Congress. Paul commented that the Fed is "more secretive than the CIA," adding that no one really knows if the U.S. government still has its gold reserves -- an issue of great interest lately to GATA.
Paul said that there is "no accountability" in the U.S. monetary system and blamed the Fed's manipulation of market interest rates for the recent stock market and housing bubbles.
The congressman, a member of the House Banking Committee who is often considered a conservative, praised the chairman of the committee, Rep. Barney Frank, a liberal Democrat from Massachusetts, for being receptive to holding more hearings about the Fed's operations.
So if you support more openness and accountability in government and smashing the plutocracy that controls the country's finances and siphons away a huge share of its actual production, are you a liberal or a conservative or what? Or is it possible that you might just be an ordinary American attempting to be a patriot and decent human being?
Whatever you are, you can find Cramer's gushing over Paul yesterday at YouTube here:

America's teetering banking system
Online Journal Mike Whitney February 1, 2008
Somebody goofed. When Fed chairman Ben Bernanke cut interest rates to 3 percent Wednesday, the price of a new mortgage went up. How does that help the flagging housing industry?
About an hour after Bernanke made the announcement that the Fed Funds rate would be cut by 50 basis points, the yield on the 30-year Treasury nudged up a tenth of a percent to 4.42 percent. The same thing happened to the 10-year Treasury which surged from a low of 3.28 percent to 3.73 percent in less than a week. That means that mortgages, which are priced off long-term government bonds, will be going up, too.
Is that what Bernanke had in mind, to stick another dagger into the already-moribund real estate market?
Popular financial expert questions Bernanke's obsession with wild interest rate cuts, "the man has no idea what he's doing"
Popular financial expert Jim "Mad Money" Cramer has called for the Federal Reserve to be investigated in light of recent wild interest rate cuts, insinuating that the Fed is following a different agenda to the interests of the American people as the economy teeters on the brink of a recession.
"I actually want to call right here for an investigation of what the Fed did. An investigation of the institution, because I think the institution has been behind almost every boom and bust that we've had for many many years. And its really starting to [be the] time to look to see what this institution is all about," Cramer told TheStreet.com in a video report yesterday.
Biggs's Tips for Rich: Expect War, Study Blitz, Mind Markets
Bloomberg James Pressley February 1, 2008
Barton Biggs has some offbeat advice for the rich: Insure yourself against war and disaster by buying a remote farm or ranch and stocking it with ``seed, fertilizer, canned food, wine, medicine, clothes, etc.''
The ``etc.'' must mean guns.
``A few rounds over the approaching brigands' heads would probably be a compelling persuader that there are easier farms to pillage,'' he writes in his new book, ``Wealth, War and Wisdom.''
Biggs is no paranoid survivalist. He was chief global strategist at Morgan Stanley before leaving in 2003 to form hedge fund Traxis Partners. He doesn't lock and load until the last page of this smart look at how World War II warped share prices, gutted wealth and remains a warning to investors.
His message: Listen to markets, learn from history and prepare for the worst.

OCALA, Fla. - The actor Wesley Snipes was acquitted of the most serious charges against him on Friday in the most prominent tax prosecution since Leona Helmsley, the billionaire hotelier, was convicted of tax fraud in 1989.
Mr. Snipes was found not guilty on two felony charges of fraud and conspiracy. He was also acquitted on three misdemeanor charges of failing to file tax returns or to pay taxes, but was convicted on three others. He faces up to three years in prison.
Mr. Snipes had become an unlikely public face for the tax-denier movement, whose members maintain that Americans are not obligated to pay income taxes and that the government extracts taxes from its citizens illegally.

Exxon Mobil posts record profits
Yahoo News / AP Business By JOHN PORRETTO February 1, 2008
HOUSTON - Exxon Mobil Corp. posted the largest annual profit by a U.S. company - $40.6 billion - on Friday as the world's biggest publicly traded oil company benefited from historic crude prices at the end of the year.
Exxon also set a U.S. record for the biggest quarterly profit, posting net income of $11.7 billion for the final three months of 2007, beating its own mark of $10.71 billion in the fourth quarter of 2005.
The previous record for annual profit was $39.5 billion, which Exxon Mobil had in 2006.

WASHINGTON - President Bush is sending Congress a $3 trillion spending blueprint that would provide a big boost to defense and protect his signature tax cuts.
It seeks sizable savings in government health care programs and puts the squeeze on much of the rest of government, but it would still generate near-record budget deficits over the next two years.
Democrats attacked Bush's final spending plan as a continuation of what they contend are seven years of failed policies by the Bush administration...
...Bush, who was the first president to propose a $2 trillion budget, back in 2002, will leave office as the first president to hit $3 trillion with a spending plan.
Four-pronged approach will strengthen the economy by reforming taxes, cutting spending, improving monetary policy and eliminating burdensome regulations
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 24, 2008
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has unveiled a comprehensive economic revitalization package. The four-pronged plan is designed to stem the current economic slide and address the unsound governmental policies that are harming Americans’ pocketbooks.
“Real economic reform must address the underlying reasons for the current economic malaise,” said Ron Paul. “This plan is more than just a band-aid for our economy; it fundamentally reforms four areas where government policies are damaging our national economy. When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus, and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity.”
The comprehensive economic revitalization plan is available online at:
http://www.RonPaul2008.com/Prosperity.
The four areas that the plan covers are:
1. Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes.
2. Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels.
3. Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness with the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money.
4. Regulatory Reform: Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.
Congressman Paul has written or co-sponsored numerous bills to enact the policies in his plan. In Congress, he has been a champion of lower taxes and limited government.
Congressman Paul is the ranking member on the House Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology. In Congress, Dr. Paul has never voted for a tax increase or for an unbalanced budget.
“While the Department of Homeland Security says there are no specific terror threats regarding Super Bowl XLII, security is being taken seriously at the game, where the New England Patriots will face-off with the New York Giants,” writes George Hulme for Information Week.
“The game has been designated a level one security event by the Department of Homeland Security. That authorizes the use of federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Secret Service to help local and state law enforcement keep the event safe."

U.S. Troops Asked If They Would Shoot American Citizens
Iraq vet exposes how he was trained to round up Americans in martial law exercise, asked if he would kill his own friends and family
Prison Planet Paul Joseph Watson February 4th, 2008
U.S. troops are being trained to conduct round-ups, confiscate guns and shoot American citizens, including their own friends and family members, as part of a long-standing program to prepare for the declaration of martial law, according to a soldier who recently returned from Iraq.
We received an e mail from "Scott", a member of a pipefitters union that runs an apprenticeship program called Helmets To Hard Hats, which according to its website, "Is a national program that connects National Guard, Reserve and transitioning active-duty military members with quality career training and employment opportunities within the construction industry."
Scott writes that his company hired a soldier who had recently returned from Iraq, who told him that U.S. troops were being quizzed on whether or not they would be prepared to shoot their own friends and family members during a national state of emergency in America.
President George W. Bush is unlikely to reduce US forces in Iraq to less than levels just before the surge this year for fear of putting at risk security gains, US analysts said Wednesday.
Dana Priest Washington Post Thursday January 31, 2008
...Whiteside's personal tragedy is part of an alarming phenomenon in the Army's ranks: Suicides among active-duty soldiers in 2007 reached their highest level since the Army began keeping such records in 1980, according to a draft internal study obtained by The Washington Post. Last year, 121 soldiers took their own lives, nearly 20 percent more than in 2006.
At the same time, the number of attempted suicides or self-inflicted injuries in the Army has jumped sixfold since the Iraq war began. Last year, about 2,100 soldiers injured themselves or attempted suicide, compared with about 350 in 2002, according to the U.S. Army Medical Command Suicide Prevention Action Plan.
Q4 FEC Reports: Ron Paul Receives More Military Donations Than All Other Republicans Combined
Centre Daily February 4, 2008
ARLINGTON, Va. - According to newly released FEC reports, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has received more military donations than the other three remaining Republican candidates combined.
"The latest numbers make it clear: the troops support Ron Paul," said Ron Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "Dr. Paul has worked his entire career working for veterans, and has many awards and endorsements due to his dedication to their cause."
Whatever you think of Ron Paul, you have to admit that the media are notoriously biased against him.
The Fox News Channel unfairly excluded him from its January 6 debate, while MSNBC and CNN tried to keep him from speaking for any significant length of time during their January 24 and January 30 debates.
This is a candidate, we must recall, who placed second in the Republican Nevada caucuses on January 19, beating John McCain.
Ron Paul's "Revolution Manifesto" Storms Into Amazon Top Five
Unreleased book by presidential candidate in high demand
Infowars.net Steve Watson Feb 1, 2008
Presidential candidate Ron Paul's as yet unreleased book The Revolution: A Manifesto has stormed into the Amazon top five today rising from number 629 in a matter of hours.
The book, published by Grand Central, is not due out until April 30th, yet is already selling in the thousands, giving a stark indication of how popular the Congressman's message has become.
The Manifesto is Ron Paul's first original book in over twenty years and contains all his now familiar policies on the economy, war, terrorism, civil liberties and the restoration of the Constitution.
Republican hopeful Ron Paul says although America is falling from the purpose of the Constitution, it is not too late to change pace.
"What is frightening today is the war on terrorism, which has instilled fear in us," Paul said Friday night at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
"They tell us that because the war is going to go for a long time, we have to sacrifice our liberties for a long time, and we have to say no to that. We have to take our civil liberties back," expounded the 10-term congressman...
..."The truth is that not everybody in the country understands what we do. A lot of people don't understand and they just go with the flow… But once you know the truth, you have to act on it. You can't sit on your hands any longer," continued the 72-year-old Texas congressman.
A Quixotic Quest to Be a Ron Paul Delegate from Queens
The New York Times Jonathan P. Hicks February 2, 2008
...But Mr. Paul, he said, was somehow different.
“He’s the one of the only candidates who is talking about the economy, in terms of making important changes in the country’s monetary policy.
The others are talking about methods of controlling our economic problems. He’s the one looking at the causes for runaway inflation and a collapsing housing bubble and addressing those causes.”...
...“Who knows what the future holds,” he said. “But running for a local office is something I would definitely be open to it. He has pretty much made me believe again that a person with the right views can run.”
President Ron Paul has survived eleven candidates down to four.
President Ron Paul has placed in second in Louisiana and Nevada.

Statement of Ron Paul on H.R. 5104, the Protect America Act
Ron Paul’s Speeches and Statements 30 January 2008
Madame Speaker, I rise in opposition to the extension of the Protect America Act of 2007 because the underlying legislation violates the US Constitution.
The mis-named Protect America Act allows the US government to monitor telephone calls and other electronic communications of American citizens without a warrant. This clearly violates the Fourth Amendment, which states:
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
Privacy rights are not about doing nothing wrong, they're about stopping criminals who get into government or corporations from using the information to do something wrong.
This has happened a lot.
Big TV's and other advances in marketing information means we should reject what we hear as individuals with questions about surveillance and control to start being asked instead of being told.
Besides, according to the Washington Post, the government is spending billions in tax-dollars on fake news to lie to us.
When you know the media lies don't automatically defend what you heard, listen to other explanations, especially with what Bush and Cheney pay to get away with.
.
UPDATE: PREPACKAGED NEWS
The Washington Post February 14, 2006 Page A13
How much is good press worth?
To the Bush administration, about $1.6 billion.
That's how much seven federal departments spent from 2003 through the second quarter of 2005 on 343 contracts with public relations firms, advertising agencies, media organizations and individuals, according to a new Government Accountability Office report.
The 154-page report provides the most comprehensive look to date at the scope of federal spending in an area that generated substantial controversy last year.
Congressional Democrats asked the GAO to look into federal public relations contracts last spring at the height of the furor over government-sponsored prepackaged news and journalism-for-sale.

Middle East Internet Blackouts Spur Geopolitical Suspicions
Prison Planet Paul Joseph Watson February 1st, 2008
Unprecedented mass Internet outages throughout the Middle East and Asia after no less than four undersea Internet cables were cut without explanation are spurring suspicions that a major event of geopolitical proportions may be just around the corner.
Internet blackouts are impacting large tracts of Asia, the Middle East and North Africa after four undersea cable connections were severed. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Pakistan and India, are all experiencing severe problems.
At the start of WWI, Britain cut the transatlantic cables from the continent to the US, to make sure that only its war propaganda would influence US public opinion.
It helped, as the Apostle Woodrow (as Mencken called him) was able to turn an already horrific war into a disaster for Western civilization, and ensuring part II in 1939 (and even current troubles in the Middle East).
Now some state is cutting cables again, to show its power or to prepare for a war of aggression against the Iranian people.
“Increased Iraqi oil revenues stemming from high prices and improved security are piling up in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York rather than being spent on needed reconstruction projects,” reports the Washington Times.
As the corporate media has told us for years now, the Iraqis are to blame, as they are unable to get a “central government up and running,” never mind their country is a depleted uranium poisoned wasteland, the civilian infrastructure is decimated, crime is rampant, and various death squads run in the streets...
...Meanwhile, the money is “piling up” over at the Federal Reserve, same as Federal Express, that is to say there is nothing federal about it. No doubt it will disappear soon enough, same as trillions disappeared from the coffers over at the Pentagon.
It is hardly an exaggeration to say the Iraqis - indeed, the American people - are being played, same as a clueless bystander falls victim to a confidence game.
But for the latter this is hardly a concern, mostly because the average person, distracted by plasma televisions and play stations, does not read the Washington Times and is thus none the wiser.
Dare I say it is a near perfect situation for the crooks at the Federal Reserve?

New World Order: Unimaginable Intentional Human Suffering
Global Research Peter Chamberlin February 2, 2008
...By taking the easy way out, we give our blessing to the law of the jungle.
It is natural for societies to become dominated by powerful elites, who gain control of the inner workings of government and commerce, in order to bend them both to their will. "Meritocracy" and other forms of "social Darwinism," describe the belief that "success" by this definition justifies the survival of the fittest capitalism (globalism) that has decimated the world.
The brutal belief system widely promoted as "neoconservatism" is behind the fascist agenda that emerged from the bowels of corporate-owned "think tanks." These elitist thinkers believe that it is necessary for our government to "cull" the "useless eaters" from the face of the earth, through forced population reduction and perpetual war.
They are the true radicals, possessed by "extremist belief systems." Their plans for us are the end program of a centuries-old class war between the elitist self-proclaimed neo-aristocrats, who would be masters of mankind and the rest of the human race.
The neocons are nothing new, just the latest, most-concentrated form of this egotistical brand of pure evil.

There's a new world order for banks, and the Chinese, for the first time, are the biggest, with a market capitalization that has made perennial No. 1 Citigroup Inc. a distant also-ran behind Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd., China Construction Bank Corp. and Bank of China Ltd.
``The tables have been completely turned,'' said Daniel Yergin, the Washington, D.C.-based chairman of Cambridge Energy Research Associates Inc. during an interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

They are private credit monopolies; domestic swindlers, rich and predatory money lenders which prey upon the people of the United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers.
The Federal Reserve banks are the agents of the foreign central banks.
The truth is the Federal Reserve Board has usurped the Government of the United States by the arrogant credit monopoly which operates the Federal Reserve Board."

"But could America exist without an income tax? The idea seems radical, yet in truth America did just fine without a federal income tax for the first 126 years of her history.
Prior to 1913, the government operated with revenues raised through tariffs, excise taxes, and property taxes, without ever touching a worker's paycheck.
Even today, individual income taxes account for only approximately one-third of federal revenue.
Eliminating one-third of the proposed 2007 budget would still leave federal spending at roughly $1.8 trillion-- a sum greater than the budget just 6 years ago in 2000!
Does anyone seriously believe we could not find ways to cut spending back to 2000 levels?

American Academy of Pediatrics Unleashes Hysterical Attack on Fictional Television Show about Vaccine / Autism Link
Natural News Mike Adams February 1, 2008
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has gone ballistic over a fictional television program called "Eli Stone" airing on ABC that shows a family successfully suing a vaccine manufacturer for their child's autism.
Not satisfied to push dangerous vaccines onto children in the real world, the AAP now feels it must also control the thoughts and ideas of people living in fictional worlds by pressuring television networks to censor their programming.
Only television shows that conform to the pro-chemical, pro-pharmaceutical, pro-vaccine point of view will be tolerated by the AAP, it seems...
...Consider this: The 2002 cover of the American Academy of Pediatrics breastfeeding guide featured the name and logo of Ross Products, the company that makes Similac, the top-selling brand of infant formula.
I recently picked up a bottle of Similac "Go & Grow" formula. The front of the product claims, "Balanced nutrition for older babies. Improved formula!" I checked the back of the product and was shocked to see the ingredients, which listed the following as the first five ingredients:
42.6% corn syrup solids, 14.7% soy protein isolate, 11.5% high oleic safflower oil, 10.1% sugar (sucrose) and 8.4% soy oil
That's over 50% sugar!
Don't believe these ingredients? I took a picture to prove it: http://www.naturalnews.com/gallery/articles/similacingredients.jpg
...As anyone who has been paying attention already knows, autism rates have skyrocketed in direct correlation with the rise in vaccines. Take any nation in the world, and you'll find that autism rates are near-perfectly correlated with vaccine rates.
The conventional medical community acknowledges that autism rates are extremely high in the United States among those children who are vaccinated, but they insist there's "no proof" of any causal link between the two.
Sure there isn't. They're not looking for any. It's like asking Big Tobacco to find proof that cigarette smoke causes lung cancer and heart disease.
The idea that vaccines might be unsafe goes against their whole distorted belief system of pushing more and more injections onto infants and children -- all while enriching the profits of powerful drug companies.
You, the consumer, are not supposed to pay attention to the inconvenient truths that children are being killed by vaccine shots.
Two more young girls just died last week after receiving the Gardasil HPV Vaccine shots, and the body count will continue to rise as long as children are subjected to these radically unsafe substances.
Medical Groups Say ABC TV Show Story Line Could Undermine Childhood Vaccinations

...Today, ABC will premiere "Eli Stone," a legal show it calls a "drama-dy with fantastical elements." REP. PAUL: ...I think this country, a movement in the last 100 years, is moving toward fascism. Fascism today, the softer term, because people have different definition of fascism, is corporatism when the military industrial complex runs the show, when the--in the name of security -- they pass the Patriot Act. You don't vote for it, you know, you're not patriotic America. If you don't support the troops and you don't support--if you don't support the war you don't support the troops. It's that kind of antagonism. But we have more corporatism and more abuse of our civil liberties, more loss of our privacy, national ID cards, all this stuff coming has a fascist tone to it. And the country's moving in that direction. That's what I'm thinking about...
MR. RUSSERT: So you think we're close to fascism?
REP. PAUL: I think we're approaching it very close. One--there's one, there's one documentary that's been put out recently that has generated a lot of interest called "America: Freedom to Fascism" and we're moving in that direction. Were not moving toward Hitler-type fascism, but we're moving toward a softer fascism. Loss of civil liberties, corporations running the show, big government in bed with big business. So you have the military industrial complex, you have the medical industrial complex, you have the financial industry, you have the communications industry. They go to Washington and spend hundreds of millions of dollars. That's where the control is. I call that a soft form of fascism, something that is very dangerous.

The blast of automated phone calls was accidentally sent at about 11 a.m. to parents of students of all ages. The system, which the school district has used for two years, alerts parents of their children’s attendance, emergencies, and other situations."
When we see police states emerging globally, we can either ignore it or react well enough to defend against them.
The collapsing global economy is a catalyst for more centralized power and control of the chaos.
Examples of our NWOwners control over our reactions include eminent domain foreclosures for NAFTA super-highways, Hurricane Katrina's clean-up, Iraq's one-million civilians killed and the subprime housing loan market collapse.
The media tells us they are "bad" but not enough for us to learn anything more or do anything else. There are a few people who've been working on this problem for decades that we deserve to hear today.

Ron Paul is Popular with Young Voters
CNet News Caroline McCarthy February 2, 2008
Texas congressman Ron Paul was the second of four presidential candidates answering questions at the MTV-MySpace "Closing Arguments" event on Saturday evening, and there were probably a whole lot of people tuning in online to the live-streamed event.
Paul and his libertarian leanings have proven hugely popular on the Web; the long-shot Republican candidate actually won MySpace’s mock Republican primary. Unfortunately for tech enthusiasts, technology policy wasn’t brought up at all; subjects like Net neutrality and online copyright law didn’t seem to be hot-button issues among the Gen-Y crowds in the audience.
One question from a Fordham University student asked Rep. Paul why he thought young voters were turning out in droves for the Democratic rather than Republican party, and Paul suggested that it’s because the other Republican candidates just don’t get what’s important to the youth voting bloc. He raised as examples the Iraq war, which he does not support, and a shaky economy that has left many students wondering how they’ll pay tuition or get a job after graduation.
A live poll conducted through MySpace revealed that 67 percent of respondents indeed thought that Paul had done an adequate job reaching out to young voters.

"For decades, the U.S. healthcare system was the envy of the entire world. Not coincidentally, there was far less government involvement in medicine during this time.
America had the finest doctors and hospitals, patients enjoyed high-quality, affordable medical care, and thousands of private charities provided health services for the poor. Doctors focused on treating patients, without the red tape and threat of lawsuits that plague the profession today.
Most Americans paid cash for basic services, and had insurance only for major illnesses and accidents. This meant both doctors and patients had an incentive to keep costs down, as the patient was directly responsible for payment, rather than an HMO or government program.
The lesson is clear: when government and other third parties get involved, health care costs spiral. The answer is not a system of outright socialized medicine, but rather a system that encourages everyone - doctors, hospitals, patients, and drug companies - to keep costs down. As long as “somebody else” is paying the bill, the bill will be too high."

Is plastic making us fat?
Researchers are exploring whether exposure to common chemicals during early development could set us up for a lifetime battle with the bulge
Boston Globe Staff Beth Daley January 14, 2008
...These findings have led some scientists to put forth a provocative argument: They say diet and too little exercise clearly are key reasons for the worldwide rise in obesity in the past 20 years, but they may not be the only ones.
Food intake and exercise just haven't changed that much in that period, they argue. And while genetics obviously play a role - just think of someone you know who can eat three Big Macs a day and never gain an ounce - these researchers say it would be impossible to see such widespread genetic change in just two decades, giving them more reason to suspect the environment.
"This is a really new area . . . but from multiple labs on multiple levels we are getting preliminary data that all say the same thing: Chemicals can play a role," said Jerry Heindel, a program administrator for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
"We know that nutrition and exercise are very, very important, but underlying that could be environmental exposures during development that alter your physiology, including how you respond to food and exercise."
Thousands of chemicals have come on the market in the past 30 years, and some of them are showing up in people's bodies in low levels. Scientists studying obesity are focusing on endocrine disrupters - which have already been linked to reproductive problems in animals and humans - because they have become so common in the environment and are known to affect fat cells.
“Americans are justifiably concerned over the government’s escalating intervention into their freedom to choose what they eat and how they take care of their health.”

Outside column: Fluoride-Gate, naming names at Centers for Disease Control
Juneau Empire DANIEL G. STOCKIN January 15, 2008
Americans' distrust of societal institutions continues to grow, and now comes evidence of yet another burgeoning scandal: Fluoride-Gate.
A torrent of recent bad news about the safety of fluorides has brought key names to the surface from the murky alphabet soup of players in the fluoride game at EPA, CDC, FDA, NIDCR, USDA, ADA, and AMA. The inevitable questions have begun about who knew what, when, and why was certain information kept quiet.
(Read the warning on toothpaste if too much is swallowed by children, buy a reverse-osmosis filter from a good supplier like Berkey, skip the odor-eater Brita for safety, especially avoid fluoride poisoning if you have bad kidneys, or if you don't want the former 1920's rat and roach poison and 1930's Nazi water-additive to sicken and pacify their population used to make our food and put in special baby bottles then spread the word and this article everywhere now - Ed.)
New research indicates that a cavity-fighting treatment could be risky if overused
Scientific American Dan Fagin January 2008
* Researchers are intensifying their scrutiny of fluoride, which is added to most public water systems in the U.S. Some recent studies suggest that overconsumption of fluoride can raise the risks of disorders affecting teeth, bones, the brain and the thyroid gland.
* A 2006 report by a committee of the National Research Council recommended that the federal government lower its current limit for fluoride in drinking water because of health risks to both children and adults.
- The Editors
Long before the passionate debates over cigarettes, DDT, asbestos or the ozone hole, most Americans had heard of only one environmental health controversy: fluoridation. Starting in the 1950s, hundreds of communities across the U.S. became embroiled in heated battles over whether fluorides - ionic compounds containing the element fluorine - should be added to their water systems.
On one side was a broad coalition of scientists from government and industry who argued that adding fluoride to drinking water would protect teeth against decay; on the other side were activists who contended that the risks of fluoridation were inadequately studied and that the practice amounted to compulsory medication and thus was a violation of civil liberties.
"Neither political party wants to address the fundamental yet unspoken issue lurking beneath any budget debate: What is the proper role for government in our society?
Are these ever-growing social services and defense expenditures really proper in a free country? We need to understand that the more government spends, the more freedom is lost.
Instead of simply debating spending levels, we ought to be debating whether the departments, agencies, and programs funded by the budget should exist at all. My Republican colleagues especially ought to know this.
Unfortunately, however, the GOP has decided to abandon principle and pander to the entitlements crowd. But this approach will backfire, because Democrats will always offer to spend even more than Republicans.
When Republicans offer to spend $500 billion on Medicare, Democrats will offer $600 billion. Why not? It’s all funny money anyway, and it helps them get reelected."

"There are many causes for concern in HR 1955. The legislation specifically singles out the Internet for "facilitating violent radicalization, ideologically based violence, and the homegrown terrorism process" in the United States. Such language may well be the first step toward US government regulation of what we are allowed to access on the Internet.
Are we, for our own good, to be subjected to the kind of governmental control of the Internet that we see in unfree societies? This bill certainly sets us on that course.
This seems to be an unwise and dangerous solution in search of a real problem. Previous acts of ideologically-motivated violence, though rare, have been resolved successfully using law enforcement techniques, existing laws against violence, and our court system.
Even if there were a surge of "violent radicalization" - a claim for which there is no evidence - there is no reason to believe that our criminal justice system is so flawed and weak as to be incapable of trying and punishing those who perpetrate violent acts."

Ron Paul the only real option for a difference
Blethen Maine Newspapers Bob Wallace February 3, 2008
Every four years, we hold elections for the highest office in the country, but only the face behind the desk will change, never the policies. We'll hear eloquent rhetoric from both sides and promises never meant to be kept.
We know they're lying, but don't seem to care. They tell us what we want to hear, and promise the freebies to get our vote and so it goes.
It's like a sporting event when we hoot and holler for our team to win. The point is, both teams are playing the same game, only the uniforms are different.
It's the same in politics. Although we're presented with candidates from both sides, they're all working for the continuation of the same goals. All of which are taking our country down the same path of destruction, so whichever team gets in, we lose.
Now we have a real option. One candidate, with real integrity and a 20-year-record that proves he will do what he says. A real American hero, Congressman Ron Paul. Paul is consistent and doesn't flip-flop. He seriously wants to return our country to its constitutional roots before it's too late. What a novel idea.

Government ordered to disclose draft Iraq dossier
Andrew Sparrow London Guardian Thursday January 24, 2008
A Whitehall spin doctor may have played a greater role in the drafting of the famous dossier on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction than the government admitted at the time, the Information Tribunal said today.
In a ruling on a freedom of information request relating to what is alleged to be the first draft of the dossier published in 2002, the tribunal said that the public should be allowed to read the document.
As has been planned by London's Royal Institute for International Affairs and their global satellite arms like New York's Council on Foreign Relations, among others, the world has seen more damning information about us than we have, including our corporate and government mistakes.
They don't mind seeing us fall after bringing in the New World Order global economic union, or the system of international agreements and EU, NAU, AU, PAU trading blocks with increasingly accepted UN control.
The American Constitution must be destroyed for this to continue, or the best documenting for preserving freedom the world looked to as a model for their people.
As legendary rapper Paris says in the song "What Would You Do?", the 4th amendment against unreasonable search, seizure and surveillance is gone, the 1st, or free speech is next, and the New World Order is quietly getting away with murder:
"And with the 4th Amendment gone eyes are on the 1st, That's why I'm spittin' cyanide each and every verse, I see the Carlyle group and Harris Bank Accounts, I see 'em plead the 5th each and every session now..."
Without habeas corpus our legally guaranteed rights are in serious trouble, especially since the people who took them away are still in charge.
Catch up and join the millions behind the Ron Paul Revolution to really challenge the military, medical and every other industrial complex once and for all before we're broke, trapped or poisoned, it's more fun then sitting around waiting for sh-t to hit the fan.

"Back in 1997 and 1998 I publicly spoke out against the actions of the Clinton Administration, which I believed was moving us once again toward war with Iraq. I believe the genesis of our current policy was unfortunately being set at that time.
Indeed, many of the same voices who then demanded that the Clinton Administration attack Iraq are now demanding that the Bush Administration attack Iraq.
It is unfortunate that these individuals are using the tragedy of September 11, 2001 as cover to force their long-standing desire to see an American invasion of Iraq."

Tip-off thwarted nuclear spy ring probe
The Sunday Times January 27, 2008 Chris Gourlay, Jonathan Calvert, Joe Lauria in Washington
AN investigation into the illicit sale of American nuclear secrets was compromised by a senior official in the State Department, a former FBI employee has claimed.
The official is said to have tipped off a foreign contact about a bogus CIA company used to investigate the sale of nuclear secrets.
The firm, Brewster Jennings & Associates, was a front for Valerie Plame, the former CIA agent. Her public outing two years later in 2003 by White House officials became a cause célèbre.
The claims that a State Department official blew the investigation into a nuclear smuggling ring have been made by Sibel Edmonds, 38, a former Turkish language translator in the FBI’s Washington field office.
"Have you ever read about the reasons they attacked us? They attack us because we've been over there- we've been bombing Iraq for 10 years. We've been in the Middle East - I think Reagan was right. We don't understand the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics.
So right now we're building an embassy in Iraq that's bigger than the Vatican. We're building 14 permanent bases. What would we say here if China was doing this in our country or in the Gulf of Mexico? We would be objecting.
We need to look at what we do from the perspective of what would happen if somebody else did it to us."

NY TIMES BAD REVIEW (Original Says We're Too Stupid)
"For the filmmaker Aaron Russo, freedom in America ceased to exist with the establishment of the Federal Reserve System in 1913, at which point money became an abstraction, and a shadowy cartel of bankers initiated their plans for world domination."
“The American Republic is in remnant status,” he says. “The stage is set for our country eventually devolving into military dictatorship, and few seem to care.”

It's a conspiracy-minded documentary from folks who think the federal income tax is a massive fraud and just one element in the move toward one world government and planetary totalitarianism.
And it works. You'll leave Aaron Russo's movie (opening today at the AMC Studio 30) feeling besieged, paranoid and furious."

Paul Blames Federal Reserve for Weak Economy
by Associated Press Tuesday, January 22, 2008
“I would enjoy being the next president to get rid of our central bank,” he told supporters. The crowd gave him a raucous welcome, chanting at one point, “Who dat? Who dat say they’re gonna beat Ron Paul?” - a riff on a popular football chant for the New Orleans Saints.
Paul, on his Web site Monday, said the economic policies of his opponents are based on ill-advised “print-and-spend” theories. He added that he would cure the economic crisis by ending the “hyper-expensive, hyper-dangerous empire all around the globe.”

Ron Paul's Writings: Monetary Policy is Critically Important
Blogs Published 01/16/2008 - 1:11 a.m. GMT
"...I believe monetary policy is critically important yet overlooked in Washington. Money is the lifeblood of any economy, and control over a nation's currency means control over its economic well being.
Fed bankers quite literally determine the value of our money, by controlling the supply of dollars and establishing interest rates. Their actions can make you richer or poorer overnight, in terms of the value of your savings and the buying power of your paycheck.
So I urge all Americans to educate themselves about monetary policy, and better understand how a small group of unelected individuals at the Federal Reserve and Treasury department wield tremendous power over our lives."
"What I say to people is: if you don't like the state of the world, run for office. In the U.S., we are looking for 469 people to save the U.S. and the World. We have an election next year, or 435 Members of the House and 34 new Members of the Senate, plus of course supporters..."

IDEAS & TRENDS: American Shakeout; In the Darwinian Age Of Global Finance, Only Megabanks May Survive
By NATHANIEL C. NASH Published: June 26, 1988
THOMAS JEFFERSON wrote in 1799 that ''banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies,'' and, indeed, since the earliest days of the nation, the fear of concentrated economic power has permeated public opinion and Government policy.
But almost two centuries later, attitudes seem to be changing as the American financial system enters the era of big banks and financial conglomerates.
Evidence builds weekly that by the end of the century many of the country's 17,000 banks and savings institutions will have disappeared because of mergers, takeovers and failures.
At the same time, the biggest banks, brokerage firms and insurance companies will have evolved into financial supermarkets, while industrial giants like General Electric Company, Ford Motor Company and Sears, Roebuck & Company extend their range of products to include checking accounts, certificates of deposit, mutual funds, life insurance policies, home equity loans, individual retirement accounts and zero-coupon bond
Let Market Crash Now Or Face Financial Train Wreck
Experts encourage facing reality that stocks are overvalued due to weak dollar, but Fed set to continue with dangerous sweeping rate cuts
Prison Planet | January 23, 2008 Paul Joseph Watson
...Clem Chambers, CEO of ADVFN, Europe's number one stocks and shares website, writes in Forbes , "In many ways, the best thing that could happen now would be a quick crash. A lot of professionals are praying for a so called "puke" because that would set a bottom for a recovery and signal that the worst is over. A short, sharp shock would be good for everyone. Recovery is better than sickening."
Chambers says the outlook is bleak through to the end of 2010 and that without this "puke" the second leg of the credit crunch could lead to a "financial train wreck on a scale not seen by the current generations".
Gordon Brown has called for a civilian rapid reaction force made up of police, fire officers, judges and other experts to help failed states get back on the road to recovery much more quickly and avoid prolonged instability.
In a keynote speech today as part of his mission to India, the Prime Minister will explain how in the "new world order", some of the largest international organisations, such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, were created in a different age and had to be overhauled radically to meet the challenges of the 21st century...
...Mr Brown insists that his proposals represent the way forward for a new global society, which was founded in several international organisations but grounded in the rules nations shared.
He adds: "Only in this way can globalisation become what it should be - a force for justice on a global scale."
"First President Bush said the New World Order was in tune-- and that's what they were working for. The U.N. is part of that government. They're working very significantly right now for a North American Union. That's why there's a lot of people in Washington right now who don't care too much about our borders. They have a philosophic belief that national sovereignty is not important. It is also the reason I've made the strong suggestion that the U.S. need not be in the U.N. for national security."

Globalists Want a Tax on Television and Video Games
Truth News | January 23, 2008 Kurt Nimmo
David Rockefeller, Maurice Strong, and the Earth Summit folks, including the United Nations Environmental Program, want to tax your television and video games.
The Sierra Club is proposing a tax on video games and televisions with the proceeds going to programs that encourage families to get kids off of the couch and into the mountains, reports KOB, New Mexico. Mike Casaus of the Sierra Club says families hiking a mountain trail together are becoming scarce as childhood diabetes and obesity is soaring, which is why the organization is proposing the one-percent tax.
In other words, you're too stupid and lazy to do anything about your diabetes and obesity and yet another tax will get you motivated. Of course, the state doesn't care if you're overweight, it is simply looking for another excuse to fleece you. Mike Casaus of the Sierra Club might be distressed at the lack of mountain hikers, but you can bet the people behind the Sierra Club couldn't care less.
It's all about the global agenda, not your waistline. Maurice Strong served as director of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and over the years the IUCN has connived with the Sierra Club, National Audubon, National Wildlife Federation, Nature Conservancy, Natural Resources Defense Council, Environmental Defense Fund, etc., to impose a globalists agenda on us, the witless commoners.

Cheney Wants Surveillance Law Expanded
Tom Raum The Huffington Post January 23, 2008
Vice President Dick Cheney prodded Congress on Wednesday to extend and broaden an expiring surveillance law, saying “fighting the war on terror is a long-term enterprise” that should not come with an expiration date.
“We’re reminding Congress that they must act now,” Cheney told the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. The law, which authorizes the administration to eavesdrop on phone calls and see the e-mail to and from suspected terrorists, expires on Feb. 1. Congress is bickering over terms of its extension.
On Tuesday, Senate Republicans blocked an effort by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to extend the stopgap Protect America Act without expanding it, raising stakes for an expected showdown in the Senate later this week on a new version of the law.

U.S. Senate Report: Over 400 Prominent Scientists Disputed Man-Made Global Warming Claims in 2007
Senate Report Debunks "Consensus"
Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called "consensus" on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.
The new report issued by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee’s office of the GOP Ranking Member details the views of the scientists, the overwhelming majority of whom spoke out in 2007.
Even some in the establishment media now appear to be taking notice of the growing number of skeptical scientists. In October, the Washington Post Staff Writer Juliet Eilperin conceded the obvious, writing that climate skeptics "appear to be expanding rather than shrinking." Many scientists from around the world have dubbed 2007 as the year man-made global warming fears “bite the dust.” (LINK) In addition, many scientists who are also progressive environmentalists believe climate fear promotion has "co-opted" the green movement. (LINK) is blockbuster Senate report lists the scientists by name, country of residence, and academic/institutional affiliation.
It also features their own words, biographies, and weblinks to their peer reviewed studies and original source materials as gathered from public statements, various news outlets, and websites in 2007. This new “consensus busters” report is poised to redefine the debate.
Corporate Media Ignores Ron Paul's Second Place In Louisiana
Congressman's silver in another state goes unreported

Presidential candidate Ron Paul has finished second in yet another state caucus this week yet there has barely been a murmur from the mainstream media once again.
The Louisiana Republican Party announced the preliminary results yesterday in a press release that was roundly ignored by the corporate media...

THE QUIGLEY FORMULA
The net effect of Against All Enemies is to implement a strategy described by Professor Carroll Quigley, President Clinton's mentor when he was a student at Georgetown University. In his book, Tragedy and Hope, Quigley explained the value of allowing people to believe that, by choosing between the Democratic and Republican parties, they are participating in their own political destiny.
To a collectivist like Quigley, this is a necessary illusion to prevent voters from meddling into the important affairs of state. If you have ever wondered why the two American parties appear so different at election time but not so different afterward, listen carefully to Quigley,s approving overview of American politics:
"The National parties and their presidential candidates, with the Eastern Establishment assiduously fostering the process behind the scenes, moved closer together and nearly met in the center with almost identical candidates and platforms, although the process was concealed as much as possible, by the revival of obsolescent or meaningless war cries and slogans (often going back to the Civil War).
The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can "throw the rascals out at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy.
Either party in office becomes in time corrupt, tired, unenterprising, and vigorless. Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies.

Ron Paul hauls in the cash, again
by Jason George
It's not as much as his totals last Nov. 5 ($4.3 million) or Dec. 16 ($6 million), but Rep Ron Paul has managed to again squeeze the Internet for a boatload of campaign cash.
Paul hauled in $1.85 million on Monday, besting a Tuesday NYC fundraiser by Sen. John McCain, which gathered about $1 million, and former Gov. Mike Huckabee's Sunday trip to Chuck Norris's ranch, which Campaign Manager Chip Saltsman says brought in about $330,000. (Norris' goal was $10 million.)
Paul has yet to win a primary, but he's finished in the top five in every single one, including a second place finish in lightly-contested Nevada. He's earned 6 delegate pledges so far, putting him in 5th place in that hunt. As Rudy Giuliani would probably prefer that no one point out: Paul has bested him in every contest except New Hampshire.
In announcing Monday's results last night, Jonathan Bydlak, Paul's financing director, couldn't stop himself from using some schadenfreude to appeal for more money:
"For those of you who haven't heard, Mike Huckabee's campaign is broke. Don't let the same thing happen to Ron Paul. After all, where else would Mike Huckabee get all of his ideas? Contribute today!"
Dr. Paul Craig Roberts is a former U.S. Assistant-Secretary of the Treasury known as "The Father of Reaganomics" and a former Wall Street Journal Editor who knows what he's talking about when he said on The Alex Jones Radio Show:
"Congress just passed a $700 billion defense budget, we don't need that... if we cut the defense budget in half and ended these wars the world would feel relief at the lack of pressure on the dollar and it could stabilize." (22/Jan/08)
.
Dr. Ron Paul is the world's chosen candidate for President who will end the wars in IraqAfghanistan and has said repeatedly as Commander-in-Chief that he'll bring troops home from 700 military bases in 130 countries, something most people didn't even know:
"We have 700 military bases overseas in 130 countries and are fighting two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the government wants us to enter a war with Iran, it just doesn't make sense." (14/Dec/07)

Do we want hundreds of billions of dollars in taxes and money printed out of thin air to be used to kill and enslave and bankrupt us or not?

The key is to see how they buy and bribe big institutions into controlling us.
The key is to see how to reject them manufacturing the collapse of our economy.

Firefighters Work To Sink Giuliani Campaign
January 22, 2008
2 hours, 31 minutes ago
Firefighters across the United States are joining forces to try to sink Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign effort.
Some local firefighters said they call his recollections of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and promises of fighting terrorism a myth and insult.
A firefighters' union on North Orange Blossom Trail was the first stop in a series of rallies on Tuesday. Members urged voters not to support Giuliani for president.
The rally was organized by the International Association of Firefighters and family members of the victims of Sept. 11.
They said Giuliani is a fraud when he claims to be a leader in the wake of the terrorist attacks, and a liar for claiming to protect firefighters during the excavation of ground zero.
They also said he's weaving a myth on the campaign trail when he claims to have prepared New York City in the wake of the World Trade Center bombing in 1993.
Retired Deputy Fire Chief Jim Riches lost his firefighter son on Sept. 11, 2001.
"The terrorists killed my son, but Rudy Giuliani gave us bad respirators, which caused many first responders to get sick and die. We had to fish human remains out of the garbage dump, and also he had failures in communication in everything else that did lead to unnecessary deaths ... down there of civilians and firemen because his administration failed to heed the warnings of '93," Riches said.
Giuliani was endorsed last week by a national organization of state police during a visit to Walt Disney World.
The group said the No. 1 reason they're backing him is that he's the best candidate to improve national security.
As for the firefighters' claim, a Giuliani spokesman said they're simply an arm of the Democratic Party.

We've written here at Gambling911.com regarding how Ron Paul was likely to have a very strong showing in the Democratic stronghold of Washington State. Now the Seattle Post Intelligencer is predicting Paul could win the state.
The long time Texas Congressman had his biggest showing yet in the state of Maine with nearly 19 percent of the vote count despite coming in 3rd place just three points behind Republican front runner John McCain.
Paul, a Texas congressman, is running fourth of the four remaining GOP candidates, but he's poised for a dramatic showing -- even a victory -- in Saturday's caucuses, according to a Seattle P-I analysis of campaign finance documents.
Furious state residents are voicing their anger over a law that makes online poker a felony in the state of Washington. Ron Paul, in an interview with Gambling911.com, told of how he voted against a federal law that makes some forms of online gambling illegal. However, that law does not make it a felony to place a bet, unlike in Washington State where actual gamblers could be facing several years in prison for playing poker over the Internet.
Paul reported more than 1,000 donors, giving him the edge over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 700 and Arizona Sen. John McCain with 500, filings show. All donors of $200 or more must be disclosed in the filings.
The edge in donors is important because those are the same dedicated partisans likely to spend their Saturday at Washington's precinct caucuses.
Far less is at stake in terms of delegates Saturday than will be decided in Tuesday's multistate electoral bonanza, and any of the candidates could concede defeat before Washingtonians have their say.
Still, every candidate who survives Super Tuesday will look to Washington as a major battleground, according to state GOP chairman Luke Esser.
"The one lesson of the campaign so far is how unpredictable it's been," he said.Paul faces the easier task in capitalizing on his advantage: he is in a four-person race and can win or place with less than a majority. Additionally, with 15 percent of those donors in Seattle, where Republican turnout is lighter than in GOP strongholds, strong turnout for Paul could roll up precinct-level wins in Seattle and similar, normally Democratic areas.
It is not known if Ron Paul will continue after Super Tuesday though he has suggested that will be up to his massive support base, which so far this quarter has raised more than $5 million for his campaign. Paul has had strong showings in both Nevada and Louisiana to date, coming in second in both states among Republicans. In Maine, he received the largest percentage of votes.
Paul also has the potential to perform very well in some key Super Tuesday states including Colorado.
On the Democratic side, Barack Obama is leading in Washington.
