Just a head's up, based on who RSVP's on the TTS Meet-Up site, I'm going to make reservations at Jack Astor's on the 4th floor of the "Toronto Life Centre" on the north-east corner of Yonge and Dundas for brunch from 12 - 2 pm. It should be a neutral enough place (family friendly + beer) for everyone. Brunch is less formal than lunch anyway, and it's served with a side of cantaloupe, so you can't beat that. It'll be busy on a Saturday and I don't want to over-book, so please let us know if you're coming.

Note: if the response to this post is good then I'll post another meet-up to let others know.

We local truthers used to have great meetings at Laila's in the Annex every Saturday and have done this many times, notably with truthers from across Canada at the March on Ottawa (MOO - shoutouts to Matt Boo-kler) event on and around September 11, 2008. It's always great to get everybody on a relaxed atmosphere with an excitable conspira-buzz in the air. Our gorgeous waitress at the Ottawa pub said we were possibly the nicest and most interesting group she'd ever served. I fell in love.

Note: we really do get along and make a good impression on others, just drop by and see.

Saturday is an opportunity for fellow truthers in the GTA to drop by, meet others and to speak freely with each other as adults (and the odd child) who care about their country -- and its people -- and looked into the issues we all face more than others. It's historically been something people were proud of doing, as everyone who joins TTS should be. Growing from around 200 to around 300 members in the last 6 months means people want to communicate about these issues. This is a good chance to.

Note: there will be more opportunities so don't worry if you can't make it, but RSVP if you can.

FYI, here's a review of the new Jack Astor's with great pictures of their patio, we can even get a group photo overlooking where we hang out at Dundas Square. Maybe if somebody stands on a chair and shoots downwards or something. Yeah, that would be a cool shot. That and more info and directions are below, unless anyone has another suggestion, then we'll assume this is a go. Please RSVP as soon as possible to ensure you have a seat at the table; otherwise just drop by to say hi.

Just a head's up, our good friend Brad Loignon posted this article in the TTS forums, but based on what's happened on this listserve recently, IMHO, it's worth sharing here, now. Frankly, at this crucial time in Canadian history, people in groups like ours posting articles every day is probably a great idea. We just need to have reasons to do so, otherwise people might just forward everything interesting they find. If people could briefly explain exactly why they were posting an article, then it would help us focus a bit.

We should also have projects on the go that form parallel conversations that can be helped by the articles. Without any projects, anyone might post anything just because they're bored. With projects, the articles might be related to them in some way. Otherwise, feel free to check the Infowars analysis online "trolls" and infiltrators. Sure they're pests, but not as bad as mosquitos. I've also included a verse from a song I wrote references this stuff. IMHO, with projects to focus on, "their" efforts can be neutralized.

IMHO, the article below should be treated like most others we research, or something that enlightens and not frightens us. One of the reasons so many "truth seekers" worldwide feel isolated is because the only contact they have with fellow like-minds is online... which can get messy fast. When truthers meet face-to-face, they often easily communicate normally and realize they're mostly normal people who want to compare their unique intelligence and analysis on our most pressing issues with others.

Anyway, it's 2010, so happy no new fear year... :-)

Obama Information Czar Outlined Plan For Government To Infiltrate Conspiracy Groups

Harvard law professor Cass Sunstein, Obama’s appointee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, outlined a plan for the government to infiltrate conspiracy groups in order to undermine them via postings on chat rooms and social networks, as well as real meetings, according to a recently uncovered article Sunstein wrote for the Journal of Political Philosophy.

As we have often warned, chat rooms, social networks and particularly article comment sections are routinely “gamed” by trolls, many of whom pose as numerous different people in order to create a fake consensus, who attempt to debunk whatever information is being discussed, no matter how credible and well documented. We have seen this on our own websites for years and although some of those individuals were acting of their own accord, a significant number appeared to be working in shifts, routinely posting the same talking points over and over again.
