Fluoridation is INEFFICIENT and NOT COST-EFFECTIVE because:

1) Only a small fraction of the water fluoridated actually reaches the target. Most of it ends up being used to wash the dishes, to flush the toilet or to water our lawns and gardens.

2) It would be totally cost-prohibitive to use pharmaceutical grade sodium fluoride (the substance which has been tested) as a fluoridating agent for the public water supply. Water fluoridation is artificially cheap because, unknown to most people, the fluoridating agent is an unpurified hazardous waste product from the phosphate fertilizer industry.

3) If it was deemed appropriate to swallow fluoride (even though its major benefits are topical not systemic) a safer and more cost-effective approach would be to provide fluoridated bottle water in supermarkets free of charge. This approach would allow both the quality and the dose to be controlled. Moreover, it would not force it on people who don't want it.

Water Utilities must put this Warning on their bills that fluoridated water not be used to reconstitute infant formula

Since 2006 the American Dental Association, dental researchers, and medical organizations throughout North America have recommended that infants not consume fluoridated water in an effort to reduce the risk of fluorosis. While dentists have been warned by the ADA, little has been done to warn the general public or government officials. We believe that if a community adds fluoride to the water, it has the responsibility to at least disclose it to customers, and act to protect the most vulnerable population--our children--by warning parents about the risk of fluorosis.

To this end, the Fluoride Action Network has begun the campaign to warn customers of fluoridated water systems not to give fluoridated water to children under 12 months of age. The campaign was announced by Dr. Paul Connett in Toronto on October 19.

Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano admitted yesterday that body scanners would eventually find their way into U.S. public transportation, trains and boats, but Big Sis is already beta-testing technology that goes even further, by forcing Americans to undergo a behavioral interrogation before they are allowed to enter sports events, rock concerts and shopping malls.

“I think the tighter we get on aviation, we have to also be thinking now about going on to mass transit or to trains or maritime. So, what do we need to be doing to strengthen our protections there?” said Napolitano, indicating that naked body scanners and invasive pat downs will eventually become a necessity in order to merely catch the subway or ride a bus.
