65,000 Civil Servants Make Over $100,000 A Year? For Doing What?

Note: Happy April Fool's Day! :-P BTW, sorry, but I can't post links to and right now, the magical innernets won't let me, but hopefully soon. For now, please download here and enjoy! :-)

This episode: why do some people decide not to understand stuff that other human beings can understand? Why do some people ignore what President Obama is actually doing and still invent fantasies after a year of lies and failure? Is his real name "Barry Sotero"? Why so many doctor, lawyer and cop shows? Why did Epicurus and his Homiez go nuts and poster the hell out of Greece 3000 years ago? Why do nearly 65,000 Ontario civil servants make $100,000 a year when problems keep getting worse?

CKLN Rude Awakening is hosted by Black Krishna (BK) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 - 7 am on CKLN 88.1 FM, Rogers Cable 947 or online. Download mp3 links available around 8 am at, and Please contact with your questions, answers, suggestions, news tips, music and more.

Alex welcomes back to the show attorney Philip J. Berg, a former deputy attorney general of Pennsylvania who brought a RICO lawsuit charging president George W. Bush and 154 others with complicity in the 9/11 attacks, and another suit challenging the eligibility of Barack Obama to become President of the United States. Berg contends that Obama was born actually in Mombasa, Kenya and that the "Certification of Live Birth" on Obama's website is a forgery.

Some cops on the beat do it. Several firefighters do it. Even LCBO store managers, teachers, casino operators and train conductors do it.

In fact, a whole lot of public servants — 63,761 to be precise — make $100,000 or more a year (in salary and bonus alone), according to the annual Sunshine List.

It has grown by 18% over the previous year and more than 90% over three years.

(Greek: Ἐπίκουρος, Epikouros, "ally, comrade"; Samos, 341 BCE – Athens, 270 BCE; 72 years) was an ancient Greek philosopher and the founder of the school of philosophy called Epicureanism. Only a few fragments and letters remain of Epicurus's 300 written works. Much of what is known about Epicurean philosophy derives from later followers and commentators.

For Epicurus, the purpose of philosophy was to attain the happy, tranquil life, characterized by ataraxia, peace and freedom from fear, and "aponia", the absence of pain, and by living a self-sufficient life surrounded by friends. He taught that pleasure and pain are the measures of what is good and evil, that death is the end of the body and the soul and should therefore not be feared, that the gods do not reward or punish humans, that the universe is infinite and eternal, and that events in the world are ultimately based on the motions and interactions of atoms moving in empty space.
