CKLN Rude Awakening hosted by Black Krishna

Save The Kids vs. We Beat Porn Ed! vs. What We're Worth

This episode: if you knew your house would be robbed in a week, you'd do something... right? Can you feel it might be robbed soon? Would you rather work for "The Man" - or - Be One? How about the kids? Are they being "Told what to do!" or "Taught how to think?" Since they don't have any money or power, what affect is what the kids are being allowed or encouraged to listen to having? Can we turn our beating of "Porn Education" for Grade 1's in Ontario into regular beatings of bad policy?

CKLN Rude Awakening is hosted by Black Krishna (BK) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 - 7 am at CKLN 88.1 FM, Rogers Cable 947 or online. Download mp3 links around 8 am at, and Please contact with questions, answers, suggestions, news tips, music and more.

Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.[1][2] It is distinguished from other ways of addressing fundamental questions (such as mysticism, myth, or the arts) by its critical, generally systematic approach and its reliance on rational argument.[3] The word "Philosophy" comes from the Greek φιλοσοφία [philosophia], which literally means "love of wisdom".[4][5][6]

The disappearing male

That's the question scientists and researchers have been pondering since alarming trends in male fertility rates, birth defects and disorders began emerging around the world.

The Windsor Star | November 6, 2008

Are males becoming an endangered species?

That's the question scientists and researchers have been pondering since alarming trends in male fertility rates, birth defects and disorders began emerging around the world. More and more boys are being born with genital defects and are suffering from learning disabilities, autism and Tourette's syndrome, among other disorders. Male infertility rates are on the rise and the quality of an average man's sperm is declining, according to some studies. But perhaps the most disconcerting of all trends is the growing gender imbalance in many parts of heavily industrialized nations, where the births of baby boys have been declining for many years. What many scientists are calling the most important -- and least publicized -- issue surrounding the future of the human race will be highlighted in a CBC documentary that features two Windsor researchers who've studied the phenomenon.

Muslims, Christians challenge Ontario’s more explicit sex ed

Christians and Muslims in Ontario are united in their objections to the province’s new sex education curriculum

Heads should roll over sex-ed outrage

The Ottawa Citizen | April 26, 2010

Re: McGuinty pulls plug on sex-ed program, April 23.

Congratulations to Premier Dalton McGuinty for having the good sense to withdraw this sex-ed curriculum, which should never have seen the light of day, and send it back to the drawing board. I wonder if the responsible cabinet minister was asleep the day this plan reached his office for his sign-off?

The next step is to transfer the people who produced and recommended this curriculum proposal to some other governmental activity where their proclivities can find fewer avenues for public expression. It's obvious that they've embarrassed the government they work for, and they should have no further opportunity to "tweak" their proposal into something that's made to look more palatable. I hope that the government will figure this out, and assign an entirely different set of people to look at the current curriculum and come up with recommendations that will not arouse the public concern, and even outrage, that has arisen in response to the new proposal.
